Last Chance to Get WoW Midnight S1 Mythic+ Rewards: Every Rating Milestone from 1500 to the Top 0.1%
15 min read
There is a player somewhere in your region sitting at 3600 rating right now who thinks he is safe. The two rewards at the very top of Midnight Season 1 are not scored against a number. They are scored against everyone else, and everyone else is still climbing. That is the part people find out too late, usually in the last fortnight, usually while watching a cutoff drift past a score that looked comfortable in July.
That single design choice explains the entire end-of-season stampede better than FOMO ever does. Every other reward on this list has a finish line painted on the floor. And in about six weeks, when Season 2 opens a week after Patch 12.1 lands in mid-August, the ladder freezes wherever it happens to be standing and hands out prizes accordingly.
So this is the full ladder, bottom to top: what each rung gives you, what it actually costs in key levels, and where most people quietly stall out. Everything from 1500 upward is on the same clock, and none of it comes back next season. We run this ladder every season at KingBoost, so where a rung tends to eat people alive, we say so.
The whole ladder at a glance
Rating | Achievement | What you get |
Time any key | Entry credit
1500 | the Umbral title | |
2000 | Calamitous Carrion mount
2500 | ||
3000 | Convalescent Carrion mount
3400 | ||
Top 1% | Umbral Champion: Midnight Season 1 | Umbral Ashes mount |
Top 0.1% | the Umbral Hero title |
Two things to notice before we go rung by rung. The bottom six are fixed numbers you can plan a summer around. The top two are a race. And the gap between 3400 and the 1% cutoff is where the season gets strange, because you can hit every fixed target the game offers and still miss both percentile rewards.
1500: Keystone Conqueror
The "the Umbral" title, and the rung nobody writes about because it is not hard. Time a spread of mid keys and it appears. Worth mentioning only because it is a seasonal title, which means it evaporates in late August like the rest of them, and titles are the cheapest prestige in the game. If you are anywhere near 1500 and not planning to push further, get it anyway. It costs you an evening.
2000: Keystone Master and the Calamitous Carrion

Here is where the ladder starts mattering. Keystone Master hands you the Calamitous Carrion, Season 1's mount for the merely committed, and it is the most-reached milestone that still feels like an accomplishment. Most steady players land here if they run keys consistently for a month or two.
Keystone Master also feeds something else. Champion of the Dawn is a cross-content meta that wants 2000 M+ rating plus a Midnight Falls kill on Heroic or higher plus 1600 rated PvP, and it pays out a Crystallized Dawnlight Manaflux charge for the Silvermoon catalyst. It is the achievement that punishes specialists, since a pure M+ player has the rating and none of the rest. If you are two thirds of the way there, that last third is worth closing.
The Keystone Master push is our most requested M+ service every single season, and the reason is not difficulty. It is scheduling. 2000 needs consistency across the whole pool, and consistency is what dies first when real life happens.

Two different things share this name and it confuses people constantly, so let me untangle it.
Midnight Keystone Hero: Season 1 is the seasonal rating achievement at 2500. It gives you the Gleaming Sunmote through Light of the Party, which puts Mythic tier set visual effects on lower-difficulty pieces. A transmog reward, effectively, and a good one.
Keystone Hero: [Dungeon Name] is the per-dungeon achievement for timing that specific dungeon at +10. Each one gives you that dungeon's permanent teleport. Eight dungeons, eight teleports, and they stay yours for the rest of the season.
Different achievements, same words. The Keystone Hero service covers the teleports, which are the thing people actually want. Those portals are not a convenience. Once you are pushing keys seriously, the difference between porting straight to Pit of Saron and flying there from Silvermoon is twenty minutes a night, every night, for four months.

The Convalescent Carrion is the rarer of the two Carrion mounts and the point where the ladder stops being about consistency and starts being about ability. Roughly +13 to +14 across the pool. Most players never see it.
This is also, in my opinion, the best value rung on the whole ladder. You get a mount most of your realm does not have, the difficulty is real but not absurd, and it does not demand the roster stability that everything above it does. If you are picking one stretch goal to close before Season 2, pick this one.
3400: Keystone Myth and the Timelost Saddle

Now the interesting part, and the one the guides mostly bury.
Keystone Myth wants 3400 rating, which in practice means timing most or all eight dungeons around +16 on both Fortified and Tyrannical. It gives you the "the Umbral Contender" title. Fine. Nice.
It also gives you a Timelost Saddle, and this is the thing that should be on collectors' radar and mostly is not. You take the saddle to Lindormi, in the Silvermoon Bazaar or in the Timeways portal hub, and she lets you trade it for one mount from a curated pool. That pool contains fourteen legacy mounts from past Keystone Master and Keystone Legend seasons. Mounts that have not been obtainable since their season closed. Every KSM mount you missed between Battle for Azeroth and now is theoretically sitting in that pool waiting.
One saddle per warband per season. It expires when the season does. Do not sit on it out of indecision, because an unspent saddle in late August is just a reminder of a mount you did not pick.
So there are two completely different arguments for pushing 3400. The prestige one, which is the title. And the collector one, which is that a single push retroactively buys you a mount that has been unobtainable for years. The second argument is stronger and almost nobody makes it.
Top 1%: Umbral Champion and Umbral Ashes

Umbral Champion goes to everyone who ends Season 1 in the top 1% of Mythic+ rating in their region. It pays out the Umbral Ashes mount, which does not roll into the Timelost Saddle pool in future seasons, does not come back, and does not care how good you were in June.
There is no number to hit. The cutoff is wherever the ladder settles, it climbs all season, and current estimates put it somewhere north of 3500, with early Wowhead analysis suggesting you may need all +20s by the end. Treat that as a moving guess, not a target, because the honest answer is that nobody knows where it lands until it lands.
This is why the end of the season looks the way it does. It is not that people suddenly remember the deadline. It is that a 1% cutoff creates a race with no finish line you can see, so the only rational strategy is to keep pushing until the music stops. The people at 3600 in July are not being paranoid. They are doing the maths correctly.
Top 0.1%: Umbral Hero
And above that, one more rung that most players will never think about seriously.
Umbral Hero: Midnight Season 1 reads, word for word: end the season with a rating in the top 0.1% of all players in your region. It grants the title "the Umbral Hero" and nothing else, which is the whole point. A mount is a thing you own. A 0.1% regional title is a statement about where you finished among everyone who played.
One in a thousand. Per region. That is not a grind you schedule, it is a season you organise your life around, and the people who get it are largely the same names every season: fixed rosters, hundreds of hours, the meta comp, voice comms, and a spreadsheet.
What the top actually costs
Let me be blunt about the difficulty, because the fixed-number rungs and the percentile rungs live in different universes.
Up to 3000, you can pug it. Painfully, slowly, but you can. Above 3400, you cannot, or at least not reliably, and everyone who has tried will tell you the same thing: the limiting factor is not your spec and it is not your gear. It is roster consistency. Five people who know the routes and show up on the same nights beat five better players who rotate.
At +16 and up, some specific things start deciding runs:
- Xal'atath's Guile is live from +12 upward, and it subtracts 15 seconds from your timer per death. Not a nuisance affix. At +21 a single sloppy pull is the run
- Comp starts to matter in a way it does not lower down. The community standard at the top has settled around Brewmaster, Resto Druid, Augmentation Evoker, Havoc DH and Demonology Warlock, with Resto Shaman climbing as the best pug healer at the 3400 bracket. Augmentation in particular is not a flex pick up here, it multiplies the group's whole damage output, and without it you are running a persistent deficit
- Both affix weeks count equally. People push hard on their favourite and coast on the other, then wonder why their rating stalls. Your weakest affix is always the bottleneck. Always
- Routing beats skill at the margins. At +21 the timer forgives nothing, and a practised route is worth more than better individual play
If you are pug-only, or you have not timed a +9 yet, or your spec is sitting at the bottom of current tuning, the honest read is that 3400 is not happening before late August. That is not a sales pitch, it is arithmetic. There is not enough runway left.
The bit nobody prepares: Resilient Keystones
This is the one I would tattoo on anyone planning a title push.
Resilient Keystones set a floor under your key. Time every dungeon in the Season 1 pool at +12 and your keystone can never drop below 12 again, no matter how badly a future run goes. Time the whole pool at +13 and the floor becomes 13. Same at +14, +15, and so on up. Close all eight at +20 and your key does not fall below 20 for the rest of the season.
Read that again if you are pushing for a percentile reward, because the implication is enormous. Without a floor, one bad night at +18 sends you tumbling and you spend the next three evenings climbing back to where you already were. With a floor, a failed run costs you the run and nothing else. Over six weeks of pushing, that difference is not a convenience. It is most of your available time.
The requirement is the catch. It is not "push one favourable key repeatedly," it is every dungeon in the pool at that level, including the one your group hates. Which is exactly why Resilient Keystone runs are the prep step for a serious push, and ours go up to +21 and on. Set the floor first, then push. Doing it the other way round is how people burn August.
The Season 1 dungeon pool

Eight dungeons, locked all season, no mid-season rotation. Four from Midnight and four dragged out of the archives:
Midnight dungeons
- Windrunner Spire
- Maisara Caverns
- Magisters' Terrace
- Nexus-Point Xenas
Legacy dungeons
- Algeth'ar Academy
- Seat of the Triumvirate
- Skyreach
- Pit of Saron
Pit of Saron deserves a note. It is the first Wrath-era dungeon ever put into Mythic+, which sounds like trivia until you consider what it signals about future rotations. Halls of Reflection in a key. Forge of Souls. The precedent is set now.
Your fastest travel between them is The Timeways, the M+ portal hub inside Silvermoon at 42.43, 58.34, and the Caverns of Time portal in Silvermoon for the legacy ones. Or you get the Keystone Hero teleports and stop thinking about travel entirely.
What changes in Season 2
Worth knowing now, because it affects whether you bother finishing anything.
Season 2's pool is a near-total swap. Altar of Fangs (the new three-boss dungeon on the Coiled Isle), plus Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale and Voidscar Arena, which are the four Midnight dungeons that sat out Season 1, plus returning Kings' Rest, Ruby Life Pools and Temple of Sethraliss.
So every route you have memorised, every Resilient Keystone floor you built, every teleport you unlocked: Season 1 content. Your rating resets to zero for the new pool. The legacy dungeons drop back to their natural low levels. It all starts over about a week after 12.1 lands.
Which is the argument for not saving anything for later. There is no later. There is this pool, this ladder, and about six weeks.
Not chasing the title? Read this bit
Everything above is written for people pushing the top, and most people are not, and that is fine. The ladder still has a lot on it for you.
If you want gear rather than glory, the vault scales up to +18 and dungeon drops cap at 266 with the Great Vault reaching 272, so Mythic+ dungeon runs at a comfortable level still gear a character properly. The 3+1 bundle is the efficient version of that if you just want loot and crests without a project.
If you want the mounts and nothing else, Calamitous Carrion at 2000 and Convalescent Carrion at 3000 are both permanently gone in late August, and rating push to either is a far smaller commitment than the numbers suggest.
And if you have a list rather than a goal, the Last Chance Bundle exists because most people arrive at the end of a season with four half-finished things rather than one clean target.

Patch 12.1 is expected mid-August. Season 2 starts a week after that. When it does, every title on this page is stripped, both Carrion mounts stop dropping, the Timelost Saddle turns into nothing, and the percentile rewards are handed to whoever happens to be standing in the top 1% and 0.1% at that exact moment.
Your gear survives all of it, incidentally. Season 2 Veteran gear will match Season 1 Myth item level anyway, so the ilvl you grind in the next six weeks is landfill by September. The trophies are the only part that carries.
Spend the time accordingly.

FAQ
WHAT IS THE TOP 0.1% REWARD IN MIDNIGHT SEASON 1 MYTHIC+?Umbral Hero: Midnight Season 1. It requires ending the season with a Mythic+ rating in the top 0.1% of all players in your region, and it awards the title "the Umbral Hero". There is no fixed rating, and it is region-specific.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UMBRAL CHAMPION AND UMBRAL HERO?
Umbral Champion is the top 1% and awards the Umbral Ashes mount. Umbral Hero is the top 0.1% and awards the "the Umbral Hero" title. Both are decided by where you finish on your region's ladder at season end, not by hitting a set score.
WHAT RATING DO I NEED FOR THE TOP 1% IN SEASON 1?
There is no set number. The cutoff floats and rises through the season as more players time high keys. Current estimates put it above 3500, with some analysis suggesting all +20s by season end, but the real figure is only known once the season closes.
WHAT DOES THE TIMELOST SADDLE DO?
Reaching 3400 rating gives your warband one Timelost Saddle for the season. Trade it to Lindormi in the Silvermoon Bazaar or the Timeways portal hub for one mount from a curated pool of fourteen legacy Keystone Master and Keystone Legend mounts plus new Midnight additions. It expires at season end.
WHAT IS A RESILIENT KEYSTONE?
A floor under your keystone level. Time every dungeon in the Season 1 pool at a given level and your key can never drop below it. Time all eight at +12 and 12 becomes your floor, at +13 the floor is 13, and so on upward. It only limits how far a key falls after a depletion, it does not remove the timer.
WHICH DUNGEONS ARE IN THE SEASON 1 MYTHIC+ POOL?
Windrunner Spire, Maisara Caverns, Magisters' Terrace and Nexus-Point Xenas from Midnight, plus Algeth'ar Academy, Seat of the Triumvirate, Skyreach and Pit of Saron from older expansions. The pool is locked for the whole season.
WHEN DOES MIDNIGHT SEASON 1 END?
Season 1 ends when Season 2 begins, one week after Patch 12.1: Curse of Ula'tek. The patch is currently expected around mid-August 2026, which puts the deadline in roughly late August. Blizzard has not confirmed an exact date.
