Mythic+ is WoW's infinitely scaling dungeon system. You start with a Mythic Keystone, enter a dungeon on a timer, try to beat it before the clock runs out and if you do, you get gear and upgrades at the end. Finish in time and your key upgrades, the next dungeon gets harder but the rewards also improve. Fail the timer and your key downgrades. The cycle continues as high as your group can push.
Each key level adds difficulty to the dungeon through increased enemy health and damage, plus rotating affixes that change how encounters work. The rewards also scale with every key level. Higher keys mean higher item level drops, better Great Vault options at weekly reset and more Crests for upgrading gear. The M+ dungeons system ties directly into WoW's endgame gearing, where most players run M+ alongside raiding to fill slots and farm currency for upgrades
Mythic+ has its own rating system that tracks your performance across all dungeons. Each timed completion adds score based on key level and how much time you had left. Your rating determines what achievements you can earn and serves as a rough measure of experience when applying to groups.
Keystone Explorer - Is an entry level achievement that shows you understand how the system works.
Keystone Conqueror– Is mid-tier milestone where most players who engage with M+ get it within a season.
Keystone Master - It’s the big achievement that rewards a seasonal mount that becomes unobtainable when the season ends.
Keystone Hero - For players pushing higher. Rewards a seasonal title and teleports to each dungeon.
Keystone Legend - This is the end-game top-tier achievement introduced in recent seasons. Very much in the bragging rights territory.
Mythic+ rating resets each season but achievements permanently stay on your account. The mount from Keystone Master is season exclusive, if you miss that window, it’s gone forever.
Loot drops at the end of each run based on key level. The higher you push, the better the base item level. Timed completions have better odds of dropping additional pieces.
Great Vault is where M+ really pays off. Complete enough keys during the week and you unlock gear choices at reset – one slot for 1 key, two slots for 4 keys, three slots for 8 keys. Vault rewards are higher item level than dungeon drops and pull from the highest keys you completed, not the average.
Crests drop from M+ runs and are used to upgrade gear. Different key ranges drop different crest types, with higher tiers unlocking higher upgrade ranks. This is how you push gear past its base item level toward the seasonal cap.
Finding groups through the dungeon finder works, but it's inconsistent. You're competing with dozens of applicants for every listing, getting declined based on rating or item level and hoping the group you join doesn't fall apart after one wipe. Tanks and healers have an easier time getting accepted. DPS players often spend more time in queue than in dungeons.
Even when you get in, pug quality varies wildly. Some groups know routes and interrupt rotations. Others face pull and face roll half the dungeon and blame the healer. There's no way to know which you're getting until you're already inside.
This is why KingBoost’s team created Mythic+ boost. Consistent groups, clean runs, no application process, no waiting for someone to rage quit after a single death.
What's the difference between timed and untimed?
Timed means beating the dungeon before the timer expires, your key upgrades and loot odds improve. Untimed still counts for Great Vault and drops gear, but your key downgrades.
What are affixes?
Weekly modifiers that change how dungeons play. They rotate on a set schedule and add mechanics like spawning explosives, empowering enemies near each other or periodic damage pulses.
How does the Great Vault work?
Complete keys during the week, unlock gear choices at Tuesday reset. More keys means more options. Vault item level is based on your highest completed keys.
What are Crests?
Upgrade currency that drops from M+ runs. Higher key levels drop higher crest tiers, which unlock higher gear upgrade ranks.
What's a loot trader?
An extra player in your group who shares your armor type. They trade any eligible drops to you, effectively multiplying your loot chances.
Does rating carry over between seasons?
No. Rating resets when a new season starts. Achievements are permanent.
What happens if I miss the Keystone Master mount?
It's gone. Seasonal mounts don't return. Next season has a different one.
Can I get specific dungeon drops?
Yes. Individual dungeon runs let you target specific loot tables. Bundles cover multiple dungeons if you're gearing broadly.
M+ rewards are good but the path there is rough. Pug roulette, rating gatekeeping, wasted keys to groups that can't execute but the grind wears people down. KingBoost handles the parts that aren't fun:
Selfplay runs alongside our team or Piloted if you'd rather not be there. Loot traders available to maximize drops. VPN protection standard on all account work. Support available around the clock, 24/7/365.
