How to Get to Riverglades in WoW Forever, the Hidden Zone Blizzard Kept Locked for 20 Years
7 min read
Quick summary: To get to Riverglades in WoW Forever, head north from Redridge Mountains toward the Burning Steppes and turn right, east, at the new fork just before the Burning Steppes. From Kalimdor, take the Steamwheedle ship from Tanaris to Powderfuse Port. Riverglades is a level 35 to 45 zone in the Eastern Kingdoms, with Alliance at Farholde Keep, Horde at Rog'mar, nearly 200 quests and the outdoor ogre dungeon Krol'dok Stronghold.
WoW Forever Riverglades finally opens up a chunk of the Eastern Kingdoms that's been a blank spot on the map for twenty years. Anyone who leveled in Classic remembers the mid-30s slump: running out of quests, bouncing between Stranglethorn, Desolace and Arathi and grinding mobs to fill the gaps. Riverglades was built to fix exactly that. We've been mapping out WoW Forever leveling at KingBoost since the beta, and this guide covers how to get there from every direction, the full Riverglades map, every hub and the best way to level through it.

Where Riverglades is on the Eastern Kingdoms map
Riverglades was built on land that existed in the original world but could never be reached. On the WoW Forever Eastern Kingdoms map, it fills the gap east of Redridge Mountains and the Burning Steppes, north of the Swamp of Sorrows and south of the Badlands, running all the way out to the east coast.
How to get to Riverglades from Redridge
This is the fastest way in for anyone already questing in the Eastern Kingdoms, and it works for both factions.
- Head to Lakeshire in Redridge Mountains. Alliance players can fly in from Stormwind, Darkshire or Sentinel Hill.
- Take the road north out of Lakeshire, the same road that leads to the Burning Steppes.
- Turn right at the new fork just before you reach the Burning Steppes. In Classic that road only went one way. In WoW Forever it splits, and the east branch leads into Riverglades.
- Follow the road east into the zone, then make for Farholde Keep if you're Alliance.
- Once you've found the Farholde Keep flight path, you can fly straight back to Lakeshire or to Morgan's Vigil in the Burning Steppes.
How to get to Riverglades as Horde
Horde players have two options.
- By sea from Tanaris. Travel to Steamwheedle Port on the east coast of Tanaris and take the new Steamwheedle Cartel ship to Powderfuse Port. This is the easiest route if you're questing in Kalimdor.
- By road from the Burning Steppes side. Take the same crossroads between Redridge and the Burning Steppes and turn east. Redridge is Alliance territory, so watch out for guards around Lakeshire.
- Once you've found the Rog'mar flight path, it connects to Flame Crest in the Burning Steppes for quick trips back.
How to get to Riverglades from Tanaris
- Travel to Steamwheedle Port on the east coast of Tanaris.
- Board the Steamwheedle Cartel ship bound for Powderfuse Port.
- Get off at Powderfuse Port, the neutral goblin harbor on the Riverglades coast. Both factions can use it.
Riverglades map and layout

Here's how the zone lays out, with coordinates for each main area.
The Alliance side sits in the south near the Redridge border, the Horde in the center, and the goblins on the coast, with ogre country and Krol'dok Stronghold up north. Twilight's Shroud, the toughest area, is the Twilight's Hammer stronghold at the end of the zone.

| Faction | Flight master | Where | Connects to | Waypoint |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alliance | Gretchen Mayberry, Gryphon Master | Farholde Keep | Lakeshire and Morgan's Vigil | /way Riverglades 60.6 81.4 |
| Horde | Grakna, Wind Rider Master | Rog'mar | Flame Crest | /way Riverglades 59.4 45.0 |
Farholde Keep, the Alliance hub
Farholde Keep sits in the south of the zone and is home to the Brotherhood of the Horse. It's a full town, so you won't need to run back to Stormwind for anything.
Melanie Sable is a big one for Alliance enchanters. Expert Enchanting trainers are rare, and having one right in your leveling zone saves a long trip.
| NPC | Role | Waypoint |
|---|---|---|
| Demar Brant | Knight Commander and leader of the Brotherhood | /way Riverglades 66.4 80.8 |
| Barracks Master Harlan | Innkeeper | /way Riverglades 64.6 84.2 |

Rog'mar, the Horde hub
Rog'mar sits in the middle of the zone and is the Horde base, friendly with the Bolder'ok Clan of ogres.
Rog'mar also has a cook, a stable master and a journeyman blacksmith, so you're set for the whole zone.
| NPC | Role | Waypoint |
|---|---|---|
| Innkeeper Toka | Innkeeper | /way Riverglades 58.0 45.0 |
| Grakna | Wind Rider Master | /way Riverglades 59.4 45.0 |

Powderfuse Port, the neutral hub
Powderfuse Port is the goblin harbor on the east coast, shared by both factions. It has the Tanaris ship, an innkeeper, bankers, a gunsmith, trade goods and specialty vendors, a poison vendor, fishing and engineering suppliers and a Master Goblin Engineer, Melbin Powderfuse, at /way Riverglades 77.6 50.8. Innkeeper Zizplink is at /way Riverglades 78.8 54.0.
The Black Market at Powderfuse Port
Two level 60 goblins, Madam Swyndle and Mister Graphed, both titled Agent of the Black Market, stand at /way Riverglades 78.2 51.8. They sell rare items for gold at fixed prices, including Black Lotus, Arcane Crystal, Pristine Hide and the Gift of Galloping, a 10% mount speed boost that lasts 15 days and needs level 60.
Swing by on your way through. Even if you can't afford anything at 38, it's worth knowing where they are for when you hit 60.

The story behind Riverglades
Riverglades is a frontier that never stopped fighting the Second War.
The Brotherhood of the Horse is the Alliance side, a faction first seen back in Warcraft II. They're what's left of Stormwind's most elite knights. After the Second War they refused to follow Turalyon through the Dark Portal to Draenor and stayed behind to hunt down the scattered Horde remnants, breaking with Stormwind and the Alliance for good. For twenty years they've held Farholde Keep under Knight Commander Demar Brant. For them, the war never ended.
The Bolder'ok Clan is the ogre clan the Horde works with. They broke away from the Twilight's Hammer after watching their kin fall into madness, and years surrounded by enemies have made them one of the toughest independent clans in Azeroth. They compete with the humans of Farholde for the land's resources.
The Twilight's Hammer is the threat both factions share. They've taken the old Horde's westernmost stronghold, now called Twilight's Shroud, along with the ogre fortress of Krol'dok Stronghold. Add in gnoll camps, the Eastsea pirates raiding the coast and the Powderfuse goblins running the port, and there's a lot going on in a single zone.
Riverglades reputations
You'll earn most of your reputation just by questing through the zone. If you're chasing a high standing, Brotherhood of the Horse reputation can take care of the grind.
| Reputation | Faction | Who they are |
|---|---|---|
| Brotherhood of the Horse | Alliance | The knights of Farholde Keep |
| Bolder'ok Clan | Horde | The independent ogre clan |
| Powderfuse | Neutral | The goblins of Powderfuse Port, with rewards at Friendly, Honored and Revered |
Riverglades level by subzone
| Subzone | Level | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Meadowsbrook | 36 | One of the first areas you reach |
| Southern Watch | 36 | An early outpost |
| Bristle Hills | 37 | Hills on the way into the zone |
| Farholde Keep | 38 | The Alliance hub |
| Rog'mar | 38 | The Horde hub |
| Powderfuse Port | 38 | The neutral goblin harbor |
| Elbrim's Farm | 38 | Farmland in the middle of the zone |
| Sunnyglade | 38 | A mid-zone area |
| Terral's Watch | 38 | A watchtower outpost |
| Turner's Logging Camp | 38 | A logging camp |
| Eastwind Shore | 40 | The coast, where the tougher quests begin |
| Bolder'ok | 42 | Ogre territory in the north, home of the fighting ring |
| Krol'dok Stronghold | 42 | The ogre fortress, with the dungeon inside |
| Twilight's Shroud | 44 | The Twilight's Hammer stronghold and the zone's toughest area |
The Bolder'ok fighting ring
Deep in Bolder'ok, the ogres run a fighting ring where you prove yourself against their best brawlers. It's run by Chub'chob, the elite Bloodmaster of Bolder'ok, and the goblin Jezap Jinglesprocket, the Fight Promoter. Both stand at /way Riverglades 65.6 21.4. Bring friends, since the opponents are tough elites.
Nearby, the ogre Dorb sells rare goods at /way Riverglades 63.8 17.0, so check his stock while you're in the area.
Krol'dok Stronghold

Krol'dok Stronghold is one of the new five-player dungeons in WoW Forever and the centerpiece of Riverglades. It's a huge outdoor ogre fortress for levels 40 to 45, home to an ogre civilization that kidnaps people, raids nearby settlements and chants through the night. It was designed to give players something other than their twenty-fifth Scarlet Monastery run.
The elites around the fortress hit hard, so don't wander in solo. Pick up every Krol'dok quest in the zone before you go. In WoW Forever, dungeon mobs give less experience than in Classic, but dungeon quests give a lot more, so one run with a full quest log is worth far more than farming it.
Best way to level through Riverglades
WoW Forever has no level scaling, so the subzone levels matter. Here's the order that follows them.
- Arrive around level 35 or 36. Start with Meadowsbrook, Southern Watch and Bristle Hills.
- Set up at your hub at 38. Farholde Keep for Alliance, Rog'mar for Horde. Clear Elbrim's Farm, Sunnyglade, Terral's Watch and Turner's Logging Camp from there.
- Move to Eastwind Shore at 40, where the pirates and tougher quests begin.
- Push into Bolder'ok and Krol'dok at 42. Try the fighting ring and collect the dungeon quests.
- Finish at Twilight's Shroud at 44. Then run Krol'dok Stronghold with every quest in your log.
- By the end you'll be in the mid-40s and ready for Feralas, the Hinterlands or Tanaris.
Riverglades isn't easier than other zones, since the experience curve is the same as in Classic. What it changes is quest density. With nearly 200 quests in one place, you spend far less time traveling and grinding than in the old mid-30s. It also works as an alternative to Stranglethorn Vale, so if STV starts feeling repetitive or its world PvP gets too hot, you can switch straight over.

Level faster in Riverglades
- Eat XP food. Most cooked food in WoW Forever gives +5% experience from kills for 15 minutes on top of its stat buff.
- Use a camp. A Camp Tent at your campfire builds rested experience for everyone nearby.
- Grab the Cozy Sleeping Bag before you get here, for a stacking experience bonus.
- Spend Legacy points on Well Rested to increase your rested experience gain and cap.
- Use the new boats. Besides Tanaris to Powderfuse Port, Stormwind Harbor now sails to Auberdine, and a loop links Menethil Harbor, Southshore and Auberdine.
What to do first
- Head to Riverglades at 35 or 36, by road from Redridge or by boat from Tanaris.
- Grab your flight path at Farholde Keep or Rog'mar right away.
- Alliance enchanters should visit Melanie Sable for Expert Enchanting.
- Find the Black Market agents at Powderfuse Port so you know where they are at 60.
- Collect every Krol'dok Stronghold quest before running the dungeon.
- Keep XP food and rested experience going the whole way through.
Riverglades is the best stretch of new content in WoW Forever leveling, but it starts at 35 and still takes time to clear. WoW Forever leveling gets your character to Riverglades and through it, and Brotherhood of the Horse reputation takes care of the Alliance faction grind.
