Everything Leaving When Midnight Season 1 Ends: The Complete Checklist
10 min read
A season ending doesn't take anything out of your bags. Your gear stays put. What happens is that Season 2 makes it obsolete by being better, since Season 2 Veteran-track gear will land at the same item level as Season 1 Myth-track gear, so Blizzard never has to strip your item level. You replace it all naturally because the new drops are just higher. The content moves on the same way: the Mythic+ pool rotates, any older-expansion dungeons in it (the Skyreach and Pit of Saron types) fall back to their normal low levels, your M+ rating resets to zero, and the Season 1 raids get left behind for The Venomous Abyss rather than nerfed or removed.
What you actually lose is the prestige: the mounts, titles, achievements and Feats of Strength locked to Season 1 that turn unobtainable, or far harder to get, the moment Season 2 begins. That happens about a week after Patch 12.1, currently expected mid-August, so the real deadline is late August. This is exactly the window KingBoost is built for, and our best-value deals map straight onto it: the discounted 3-raid bundle that clears Dreamrift, Voidspire and March on Quel'Danas in one go, Gladiator and Mythic+ rating pushes for the season-locked mounts, and gold packages to cushion the Season 2 launch rush. Here's everything on the clock, by category, and the order we'd secure it in.
1. Raids: achievements, mounts and Feats of Strength

The Season 1 raids are Dreamrift, Voidspire and March on Quel'Danas. Here's what disappears or changes when Season 2's raid opens.
Cutting Edge (the big one). Cutting Edge is a Feat of Strength for killing a raid's final boss on Mythic before the next tier launches. There are three to grab before The Venomous Abyss opens: Cutting Edge: Chimaerus for the Dreamrift, Cutting Edge: Crown of the Cosmos for the Voidspire, and Cutting Edge: Midnight Falls for March on Quel'Danas. Once Season 2's raid is live, these are gone permanently. CE is the single most prestigious PvE reward here, because it's dated proof you cleared the hardest content while it was current, and it never comes back.
Ahead of the Curve. The Heroic-tier version, Ahead of the Curve: Midnight Falls, for a Heroic Midnight Falls kill before the new tier. Same deadline, same permanent removal. More achievable than CE but still on the clock.
Ashes of Belo'ren. The trophy mount of the season, a Void-corrupted phoenix that drops from Midnight Falls on Mythic only. Important nuance: this one does not vanish at Season 2. It keeps dropping until the next expansion, The Last Titan, then drops to a 1 percent rate. But the practical farm window, three mounts per 20-player Mythic kill each lockout, is best right now while groups are actively running Mythic. Once the tier is abandoned, assembling a Mythic March on Quel'Danas group gets much harder, so the mount's realistic accessibility drops long before its official rate does.
Tenebrous Harrower. Rewards the Glory of the Midnight Raider meta-achievement, which requires challenge tasks across all three raids, not just one. Glory metas usually stay obtainable, but they get dramatically harder to organize once the tier is off-meta and nobody's running coordinated challenge attempts. This is a "do it while there's a group for it" reward.
KingBoost raid services cover this whole category: Voidspire clears on any difficulty, AOTC and CE runs before they expire, the Ashes of Belo'ren Mythic farm, and the full Glory of the Midnight Raider achievement list for the Tenebrous Harrower without you having to organize challenge runs across multiple lockouts. Both Selfplay and Piloted options with VPN protection.
1.1 Mythic+: title, mounts and Feats of Strength

M+ rating resets to zero when Season 2 starts, and the rating-gated rewards go with it. Secure these before the reset.
Calamitous Carrion. The Keystone Master mount, earned at 2000 Mythic+ rating (Midnight Keystone Master: Season One). Removed at season end. This is the most attainable of the M+ mounts and the one most people can realistically reach with help.
Convalescent Carrion. The Keystone Legend mount at 3000 rating (Midnight Keystone Legend: Season One). A genuine top-end achievement most players never touch, and gone at reset.
The seasonal M+ title. Midnight Keystone Conqueror at 1500 grants "the Umbral" title, and the higher brackets carry their own seasonal titles. Like all seasonal titles, they're stripped at season end.
Keystone Hero teleports. Timing a Mythic+ 10 in each dungeon earns that dungeon's Keystone Hero achievement and its teleport. These teleports are tied to the Season 1 dungeon pool, so once the pool rotates, the window to earn this season's set closes.
The Gleaming Sunmote. From Light of the Party at 2500 rating, it grants Mythic tier set visual effects on lower-difficulty pieces. Tied to the season.
KingBoost Mythic+ boosts handle rating pushes to any bracket (2000 for Calamitous Carrion, 3000 for Convalescent Carrion), the Keystone Hero teleport runs, and specific key timing, before the ladder wipes.
3. PvP: the Gladiator mount, titles and elite sets

PvP is where the most valuable unobtainable rewards live, because almost all of it is rating-gated and seasonal.
Galactic Gladiator's Goredrake. The Season 1 Gladiator mount, earned at 2300 rating in 3v3 Arena plus 50 wins at Elite. Only 3v3 awards it, not Solo Shuffle, not Blitz, not RBGs. Both the mount and the Gladiator title variant are season-locked and gone at reset. This is the crown jewel of the whole checklist, and 2300-plus in 3v3 with 50 clean wins is out of reach for most players without a coordinated team.
Elite PvP transmog set. The seasonal Elite armor, unlocked at 1800 rating (Rival I). The elite look is locked forever once Season 2 starts, and each season's set is unique.
Galaxy weapon illusion. Unlocks at 1950 rating (Rival II Feat of Strength). Seasonal, gone at reset.
Seasonal titles and the top 0.1% variants. "the Elite" at 2300, plus the end-of-season top 0.1% titles: Galactic Gladiator (3v3), Galactic Legend (Solo Shuffle), and the faction Galactic Marshal / Galactic Warlord (Blitz). All seasonal and all will be removed.
Vicious Snaplizard. The seasonal Vicious mount from filling the rated progress bar at Duelist or above. Rotates out with the season.
KingBoost PvP carries run every bracket and rating range: the full Gladiator push (rating plus the 50 wins, paired with multi-Rank 1 players), Elite and Rival transmog and illusion pushes, and rating-bar fills for the Vicious mount.
4. How to prep before Season 2 starts

Beyond the trophy chases, here's the practical prep checklist for the final weeks, and where a boost or a gold cushion actually helps.
Bank your gold before the sink. A new season is expensive: repairs during progression, consumables (flasks, food, potions, augment runes), gem and enchant mats, and the crafting scramble in week one when everyone wants the same materials. Prices spike hard at season launch. Farming or buying a gold buffer now, before the rush, means you're not priced out of your own consumables during the most important gearing week of the tier.
Finish anything rating- or Mythic-gated. Everything in sections 1 to 3 is easier to complete now, while groups are active, than in the dead final week when everyone's either burned out or already checked into Season 2 prep. The end-of-season crunch is real and queues get worse, not better, as the deadline approaches.
Don't bother over-gearing your Season 1 character. Since Season 2 Veteran gear matches Season 1 Myth item level, there's no point grinding marginal upgrades in the last weeks. Spend that time on the permanent stuff (mounts, achievements, titles) instead of gear you'll replace in the first three days of the new season.
Clear your vault and currency caps. Spend down seasonal currencies that won't carry, and take your final Great Vault rewards before the reset. Anything season-specific is worth converting before it's stranded.
Line up your Season 2 main early. If you're switching mains or specs for Season 2, level and pre-gear that character now during the quiet window, so you hit the new season ready to push rating and progression from day one rather than playing catch-up.
KingBoost gold and prep services can hand you a launch-week gold buffer and clear the last of your Season 1 goals, so you walk into Season 2 with the trophies locked in and the currency to gear fast.
The bottom line

Nothing gets taken from your bags when Season 1 ends. What you lose is the chance to ever earn its prestige rewards again: the Gladiator Goredrake, the Carrion mounts, Cutting Edge, the seasonal titles and elite sets, all locked the moment Season 2 begins in late August. The gear you'll replace anyway. The trophies you won't get a second shot at. Prioritize accordingly, and the last few weeks of Season 1 are the most valuable playtime of the whole tier.
FAQ
WHEN DOES WoW MIDNIGHT SEASON 1 END?
Season 1 ends when Season 2 begins, which is one week after Patch 12.1: Curse of Ula'tek goes live. The patch is currently expected around mid-August 2026, so Season 1 is on track to end in roughly late August. Blizzard has not confirmed an exact date yet, so treat late August as the working deadline and watch for the official announcement.
DOES WoW DELETE MY GEAR WHEN THE SEASON ENDS?
No. Your gear stays in your bags. Season 2 just introduces higher item level gear (Veteran-track Season 2 matches Myth-track Season 1), so you replace it naturally. Your M+ rating resets to zero and the dungeon pool rotates, but nothing is removed from your inventory.
WHAT WoW MIDNIGHT SEASON 1 REWARDS BECOME UNOBTAINABLE?
The Galactic Gladiator's Goredrake, the Calamitous Carrion and Convalescent Carrion M+ mounts, all seasonal PvP and M+ titles, the Elite transmog set, the Galaxy weapon illusion, and the Cutting Edge and Ahead of the Curve achievements. All are locked when Season 2 begins, roughly a week after Patch 12.1 in mid-August.
IS ASHES OF BELO'REN GONE AT THE END OF SEASON 1?
Not exactly. It keeps dropping from Mythic Midnight Falls until the next expansion, The Last Titan, then drops to a 1 percent rate. But the realistic window is now, while Mythic groups are active. Once the tier is abandoned, finding a group to farm it becomes the real barrier.
WHEN DOES MIDNIGHT SEASON 2 START?
Season 2 begins one week after Patch 12.1: Curse of Ula'tek. The patch is currently expected around mid-August 2026, which puts the Season 1 reward deadline at roughly late August. Blizzard has not confirmed an exact date.
WHAT SHOULD I DO FIRST BEFORE THE SEASON ENDS?
Prioritize permanent, unobtainable rewards over gear. Secure the Gladiator mount and any rating-gated PvP rewards, push M+ rating for the Carrion mounts, grab Cutting Edge and Ahead of the Curve, then bank gold for the Season 2 launch rush. Skip marginal gear upgrades, since Season 2 replaces them immediately.
