Orin Straylight stands next to the Catalyst in Silvermoon City at /way 40.0 64.7, northwest of the Sanctum of Light. If Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom is missing, finish his earlier quest Prismatic Potential first.

The item must be fully upgraded on its track before stones apply, so spend crests first. Once boosted, the item becomes Ascended and stops upgrading, so every spend is permanent.
What to upgrade first
- Your main weapon. It scales your damage or healing more than any other slot.
- Your best trinket. Pick the one you will still wear at the end of the season.
- Your necklace. It is new to the system and easy to forget.
- Skip items you plan to replace. An Ascended item stays at that level for good.
What to do first
- Accept Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom on patch day.
- Max out crest upgrades on your weapon and trinkets before the stones arrive.
- Plan a weekly route across Heroic raid bosses, +10 keys and Tier 11 Bountiful Delves.
- Turn in Ascending with Venomstones the week of October 20.
