WoW Forever Dalaran Has a Secret Boss Most Players Will Walk Right Past

WoW Forever Dalaran finally landed. The city that spent four expansions hovering over other people’s continents is parked back in the Alterac Mountains northwest of Southshore, and this time you walk in. The violet dome that sealed it through original Classic is gone. Inside there are Druid and Mage trainers and seven profession trainers. You’ll also find a full PvP hub in The Underbelly and the way into the City of Dalaran dungeon for levels 28 to 33.
Dalaran is an Alliance city. It's flagged as a Sanctuary, but Kirin Tor guards attack Horde characters on sight, so the trainers and vendors below are for Alliance players. The Horde still gets into the dungeon through a gate outside the walls.
Where Dalaran Is and Who Can Enter
The city stands on the plateau above Hillsbrad Foothills. Arcane Sentries patrol the streets as level 55 elites. Kirin Tor Guards give directions the same way guards do in other capitals, so ask one for the inn, a profession trainer or the transmogrifier.
The Sky Enclave inside the Violet Citadel is new. It stands where Sunreaver's Sanctuary was in Wrath of the Lich King, and it's where you'll find the Druid trainer and the cloth donation quests. The Filthy Animal, the old Horde inn from that district, is now the Dalaran Orphanage.
How to Get to Dalaran

No flight path lands in Dalaran. The closest one is in Southshore, and from there it's a ride north to the stairs. The Dalaran teleport is a personal spell, and Mages don't get a group portal to the city. Horde Skyborne leave Zephras Isle on a separate airship to Skywatcher Plateau in Mulgore.
If you're questing in Hillsbrad, walk up the stairs. If you're a new Skyborne, take the skyship from Valanaar and train your class or profession before heading out.

Cartier & Co. Fine Jewelry at /way 18.0 62.0 houses Timothy Jones, titled Apprentice Jeweler. Jewelcrafting isn't part of Forever, so he has nothing to teach, though his dialogue reads like a jeweler waiting for students. Train your gathering and crafting professions here on your first visit so you aren't stuck hiking back to a capital later.

Battlemasters and PvP Vendors in The Underbelly
Dalaran is the one place in Forever where you can queue for every battleground from a single room, the new Darkspear Islands included.

The PvP gear vendors share the room. "Dapper" Danik Blackshaft sells officer accessories, Nixi Fireclaw sells weapons and Blazik Fireclaw sells armor. Llana ran the arena queue in Wrath, so longtime players will know her face.
Dalaran Quests
The city's main repeatable chain is a cloth donation for the High Order, turned in to Belanaa Windveil in the Sky Enclave. Every turn in gives High Order reputation, and the chain is Alliance only.

Mageweave Cloth and Runecloth donations come after Silk, at 60 of each. Bank your cloth stacks while you level instead of selling them to a vendor.
Alliance players can also pick up Past Due from Magus Olvek. It sends you into the Scarlet Monastery Library to kill and loot Arcanist Doan. Grab it before your Library run so the kill counts.
City of Dalaran Dungeon Entrance
The City of Dalaran is a new five player dungeon under the city. It's tuned for levels 28 to 33, and its quests open from level 24. Run it inside that window while the loot is still an upgrade.
Every route ends at the Image of Archmage Modera. She stands at the sewer gate outside the northwest wall at /way 8.8 59.6, beside Lake Lordamere. Taking her quest Heart of Disruption gives you the Dalaran Sewer Key, and only one player in the group needs it.
Alliance. Fly to Southshore and pick up An Alarming Request from Emissary Jacques in the town hall at /way 48.3 60.1. The quest opens at level 30. Ride north to Modera and turn it in. She gives you Heart of Disruption and Starving Arcane, and the key arrives with the first one. The Alliance entrance is inside the city in Cantrips & Crows in the Dalaran Sewers. Open the gate and follow the pipe to the instance portal. After the run, Friend of the Kirin Tor sends the mote to Archmage Celindra in the Violet Citadel.
Horde. The Horde enters through the gate where Modera stands. The chain starts with Magus Wordeen Voidglare and Keeper Bel'varil in Tarren Mill. Quests in the same step can be taken together, and each step opens once the one before it is turned in.

The key sits on your keyring, so the dungeon stays open on that character.
Hidden boss. Lyn the Ignored is summoned with the Tome of Dalaran at the purple rune in the tunnel past Atrexis the Grave Knight, the first boss. The tome starts from a book on Arugal's table in Shadowfang Keep, so pick it up on your Shadowfang run.
What to Do First in Dalaran
- Train your profession on arrival, and your class spells too if you play a Druid or Mage.
- Bind your hearthstone at the inn if you're questing in Hillsbrad or Alterac.
- Keep every stack of Wool Cloth and Silk Cloth for the High Order donations.
- Alliance players at level 30 should grab An Alarming Request in the Southshore town hall at /way 48.3 60.1 and clear the dungeon before 33.
- Horde players should start the Tarren Mill chain early so the Sewer Key is ready when the group is.
- Queue for battlegrounds from The Underbelly between quests and spend your honor at the vendors in the same room.
