S tier classes
Gladiator is the closest Aion 2 has to a class with no bad matchup. It wields a greatsword, deals heavy damage and chains crowd control through packs of enemies, and its rotations are the easiest in the game to learn. It clears solo content quickly, holds its own in groups and wins duels, which makes it the default pick for anyone unsure where to start.
Ranger is the top ranged choice. It keeps enemies at a distance with steady bow damage and plenty of mobility, which makes levelling safe and smooth. Ranger tops the PvE damage charts in long boss fights, and in PvP it rewards players who keep their distance.
A tier classes
Templar is the main tank, and it holds threat better than anything else in the game. It kills slower than a damage class while solo, but it never struggles to find a group.
Cleric is the main healer and one of the most wanted classes in any party. Its kit takes practice, but a good Cleric is welcome in every expedition and every PvP group.
Sorcerer brings some of the highest burst and area damage in the game, and it clears packs faster than almost any class in PvE. Low health makes it fragile against melee classes in PvP, so positioning decides how well it performs there.
B tier classes
Assassin has the biggest single target burst in the game and the best open world farming speed at launch. It needs precise timing and has weak defences, which puts it behind in PvE and makes it a high reward pick for skilled PvP players.
Chanter buffs the whole party and shines in group PvP, where its support turns fights. Solo PvE uses less of its kit, so it levels slower than pure damage classes.
