Honor comes from unrated play like random Battlegrounds and Skirmishes and reaches 331 in PvP. Conquest comes from rated modes, upgrades further and reaches 344. Both scale up inside PvP instances, so the numbers in arena are higher than the item level shown on your character sheet. Honor stops you being free rating. Conquest is what you actually compete in.
