No Rest for the Wicked FAQ

About No Rest for the Wicked

Moon Studios made a name for themselves with the Ori games а beautiful, emotional platformers that made grown adults cry over a little forest spirit. Then they decided to pivot into making a game that kills you repeatedly and breaks all your stuff. No Rest for the Wicked is their take on the action RPG, blending Souls-like combat with top-down ARPG exploration. You play as a Cerim, a holy warrior sent to cleanse the island of Isola Sacra from a plague that's turning everyone into monsters.

The combat is deliberate and punishing. Every swing drains stamina, every dodge has to be timed right and every boss will absolutely destroy you until you learn their patterns. Your gear degrades when you take hits, gold disappears when you die and there's no hand-holding. It's the kind of game that expects you to fail, learn and come back stronger.

The Basics

Level Cap: Level cap is 30. You get three attribute points per level to distribute across Health, Stamina, Equip Load, Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith and Focus. No free respecs, since the Fallen Embers let you reallocate but they're not exactly growing on trees.

Builds: Weapons scale with different stats. Strength for big heavy hitters, Dexterity for fast blades and bows, Intelligence for magic staves, Faith for holy bonks. Make a wrong pick and you'll be stuck with gear you can't use effectively.

Death Penalty: You lose all your gold. Not some of it. All of it. So don't go into a boss fight with your life savings in your pocket.

Gear Durability: Your weapons and armor degrade as you fight and take damage. Repair costs gold. Die a lot to the same boss and you're bleeding resources on top of your dignity.

Where You'll Spend Your Time

Sacrament is your home base. It's where you'll craft, cook, upgrade buildings, buy property and talk to NPCs who may or may not be having a worse day than you. Town upgrades cost gold and materials but unlock better vendors and services.

The Crucible is the endgame dungeon. Randomized rooms, elite enemies, temporary buffs called Echoes and the best loot in the game. It's also the main place to farm Plague Ichor, which you need for inventory upgrades at the Rookery.

The Breach added two new zones – Lowland Meadows and Marin Woods – along with new enemies, bosses and story content. If you finished the original early access campaign, there's a lot more to do now.

Multiplayer (Together Update)

The January 2026 update added 4-player co-op with a twist: everyone shares one persistent realm. Your friend can log in while you're offline, clear some content and when you come back the world reflects their progress. Loot is first-come-first-served, but there's a trading system so you can swap gear and resources without drama. Enemies scale with player count, so bringing friends doesn't make it a cakewalk.

Why Use KingBoost’s Services for No Rest for the Wicked?

Look, No Rest for the Wicked is great but it doesn't respect your time. Between the slow leveling, permanent stat choices, constant gear repairs and gold loss on death, getting to the good stuff takes a while. If you'd rather skip the rough parts:
