On a first Midnight character, yes. The campaigns unlock endgame systems, zone features and gear upgrade paths that stay closed until specific story steps are done, so skipping them means hitting 90 with half the expansion switched off. On alts where another character already finished them, they are optional.

Honor Gear at 331 fills every slot without running anything, which makes it the fastest way to stop being undergeared. Mythic+0 gear comes from the eight Season 2 dungeons and brings Mistcrests with it, so it feeds the upgrade tracks as well as the slots. Take Honor if you want the number now, Mythic+0 if you want the progression.
