The Long-Forgotten Hippogryph is obtained by being the first player on a realm to locate and click all 5 Ephemeral Crystals scattered across Azsuna. Clicking the first crystal gives an 8-hour hidden buff and if you die that buff is lost and you have to start over.

Spawn timing, shared realm competition, sub-zone locations and phased versions of the same realm all play a role in how easy or difficult the hunt turns out to be. The crystals can spawn in over 99 known locations across the zone and remain active until someone claims the mount or until the weekly server reset. The respawn window after the mount is claimed is 2 to 8 hours. Getting to 4 out of 5 only for someone else to click the last crystal first is one of the more frustrating experiences in WoW mount hunting.

You need to click all 5 Ephemeral Crystals in Azsuna before anyone else on your realm. Clicking the first one starts an 8-hour timer. Dying or leaving the zone resets your progress and you must click the crystals again.

CAN SOMEONE STEAL THE MOUNT FROM ME?

Only the first player to click all five crystals receives the mount. Once someone claims it all five crystals despawn for that cycle. This is why competitive camping and fast routing are essential to securing it.

HOW OFTEN DO THE CRYSTALS RESPAWN?

The crystals respawn approximately 12 hours after the last mount was found or 12 hours after server resets.
