Archmage Hierophant Build Boost: Mana Stacking Done Right, Character Ready to Play

Archmage Hierophant turns your mana pool into your primary damage source through Archmage Support, which adds a percentage of unreserved mana as lightning damage to every spell cast. The Hierophant ascendancy pushes this further with Sanctuary of Thought for increased AoE and Divine Guidance which sends 50% of incoming damage to mana before it touches life. You end up with a caster that hits hard and tanks hard off the exact same stat.

Nova of Frostbolt casts Ice Novas on your Frostbolt projectiles for massive overlapping AoE clears across the screen, with Kitava's Thirst automating the Frostbolt generation so gameplay stays one button. Ball Lightning fires slow orbs that repeatedly hit anything they pass through, making it one of the meanest single-target setups in the game for bossing. 

Mana stacking touches every gear slot, every flask, every jewel socket and every passive allocation. Get the balance between unreserved mana, cost per cast and sustain wrong and the build either runs dry mid-fight or underperforms for the currency you sank into it.
