Credits are the main in-game currency. You use them to buy gear, weapons, supplies and equipment to take into raids. Running out between sessions means either going in under-geared or grinding more runs just to get back to a workable balance.

The main way is completing raids and looting sellable items to refine or sell. The problem is that losing your loadout on a bad run eats straight into your balance, which makes it hard to build up a consistent stack through normal play.
