CS2 Faceit Placement Matches - Season 8 Calibration Done Right and Fast!

FACEIT Season 9 launched on August 5 with a soft reset across all players and 10 mandatory placement matches before your new ELO and level are revealed. These 10 matches set your starting point for the entire season. If you wiin most of them you calibrate higher than where you ended last season. Lose the early ones and the system places you lower because the first matches in the sequence carry the most weight. There is no way to undo a bad calibration without grinding dozens of matches afterward to recover the ELO you should have started with.

The soft reset compresses everyone toward the middle. Where you land depends entirely on how the 10 placements go. For returning players whose ELO carried over from Season 7, a few bad games against the wrong opponents during calibration can drop you a full level or more below where you belong. For new accounts starting at the default 1,000 ELO, placements determine whether you begin at Level 3 or climb immediately into Level 4 or 5.
