Shegolskoe is an abandoned village on Dalniy Island and officially the most-played raid in Active Matter based on 2025 data. The map features a central village layout with houses, front gardens and abandoned vehicles, a water tower that provides elevated sniper coverage, gravitational anomalies that create floating terrain and an extraction point on floating land above the map. The calm appearance is entirely misleading.

Player traffic is constant because the map is accessible and consistently rewarding. That same accessibility makes it a target for experienced operatives who know exactly where to set up. The water tower, the floating extract and the sightlines between buildings are all actively fought over. The gravity anomalies also add unpredictability that catches players off guard who don't know what to expect near the outskirts.

Active matter has altered the physics in parts of the map. Near the apartment complexes on the outskirts gravity behaves unpredictably and some buildings float entirely, accessible only through portals inside other structures. These anomalous areas add both vertical gameplay and additional threat vectors that standard map awareness doesn't account for.
