Each faction drops one material: Crystallized Spice (Hyenas), Biohazardous Canisters (Outcasts), Military Dog Tags (True Sons), Burning Ash (Cleaners), Crossed Balaclava (Rikers) and Diamond Transceivers (Black Tusk). Check which faction your target exotic belongs to and select that material. If you're not sure, message support with the exotic name and we'll tell you what to order.

For most materials, no, just a level 40 agent. But Burning Ash and Crossed Balaclava only drop in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, so those two require the Warlords of New York and Battle for Brooklyn DLC on your account. Everything else farms in the base D.C. map.

Yes. Any Exotic Blueprints that drop from Kill Squads or full Retaliation completions are yours, along with all high-end gear, named items and Modifier XP picked up during the farm. The material count you ordered is the floor, not the ceiling.

You can, in-game, by turning materials into Broken SHD Watches and exchanging them, but the conversion rate is lossy and slow. Farming the exact material you need directly is faster and gets you more usable crafting currency for the same effort.
