In Dark and Darker, a raid is a short term to describe the process of going into a specific dungeon. During a raid run, you can do lots of stuff, such as slaying enemies, looting chests, finding secrets, and much more. If you fight your way through a dungeon and make it to the extraction point with loot, your raid run is considered successful.

Gear Score indicates the power of your equipped items - the higher your GS, the more powerful your character. You can increase the number by acquiring higher-level items during raid runs or by purchasing them on the in-game market.

In the game, there are two difficulties for raids - Normal and High Roller. HR versions of raids provide better loot, but also feature elite enemies and other dangers. To start a High Roller raid run, a player needs to pay a 100 Gold fee and meet the character’s level requirements, which is 20+ level.

The game is considered a hardcore one for a reason, so it’s a tough task to complete a raid run, especially at higher difficulties. During a raid run, dangers await you at every corner. It includes traps, monsters, and other players desiring to get their hands on your loot. An inexperienced player will die dozens of times before finally completing the first raid run.
