Amber Ardenmoth Mount Guide: Every Reputation Included
6 min read
The Amber Ardenmoth is a flying mount that comes out of Wild Hunt Supplies, the paragon cache for The Wild Hunt in Ardenweald. It binds when picked up, teaches Amber Ardenmoth as an account-wide mount and needs nothing beyond Apprentice Riding to use.
There is no vendor for it and no achievement that hands it over. You reach Exalted with The Wild Hunt, keep earning reputation past that point, collect a cache every 10,000 reputation and open it hoping the moth is inside. That is the entire acquisition path, which is why the mount is still uncommon years after Shadowlands stopped being current content.

Player reports contradict each other harder on this mount than on almost any other paragon reward. Wowhead comments include people who opened one cache and got it, alongside people at eleven and eighteen caches with nothing. Rarity addon data cited in those comments puts it around 1 in 20, matching Legion paragon mounts, while the loudest anecdotes claim far better.
Treat it as a low-chance drop with no pity system. The only thing you control is how many caches you open, so the whole guide below is about generating caches faster rather than improving odds that are not yours to improve.
One practical limit from player reports: you can only hold one Wild Hunt Supplies at a time, bank included, so stockpiling caches for a mass opening does not work. Open each one as you earn it.
Getting access to The Wild Hunt

Reputation with The Wild Hunt is earned in Ardenweald, and Ardenweald sits inside the Shadowlands campaign. You need to progress the storyline through Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald and Revendreth before the zone's content is fully open to you.
Covenant choice does not gate this mount. Kyrian, Venthyr and Necrolord characters earn Wild Hunt reputation through Ardenweald world quests and activities the same as Night Fae do. Anyone who skipped Night Fae and assumed the moth was off the table was wrong.
Every reputation source, ranked by what it pays

- Ardenweald side quests. The optional storylines pay roughly 160 reputation per quest and they are not time-gated, so this is the one source you can burn through in a single sitting. The distinction that matters: if a quest files under Quests rather than Campaign in your log, it is part of the optional content and far more likely to pay Wild Hunt reputation. Campaign quests frequently do not. Clear these before touching anything daily
- Callings and challenges. Your covenant sanctum issues these daily and they are the largest repeatable source in the game for this faction. A calling pays 1,500 reputation and a challenge pays 2,000, awarded to the faction matching the zone it sends you to. You can hold three at once and they expire after three days, so log in often enough to keep the queue moving rather than letting them roll off
- World quests. Every Ardenweald world quest pays a 125 reputation baseline, with some adding another 175 on top. Individually small, collectively the backbone of a paragon grind
- Weekly quests in Oribos. Two per week at 500 reputation each. Point both at The Wild Hunt for 1,000 in a week
- Night Fae covenant assaults. Assault quests in the Maw pay 125 reputation each while the Night Fae assault is the active one, and finishing the full assault awards 1,000. Assaults rotate Kyrian, then Venthyr, then Night Fae, then Necrolord, so the Night Fae window comes around on a fixed cycle. Unlocking them requires progressing the Chains of Domination campaign to Chapter 2, which is a real time investment if you skipped 9.1 entirely

The reputation sources above are capped by design. What is not capped is how much each point is worth, so schedule your turn-ins around the multipliers.
- Contract: The Wild Hunt applies a seven-day buff granting 10 bonus reputation per world quest completed anywhere in the Shadowlands. It requires Friendly standing, is craftable through Inscription and sits on the Auction House cheaply. Contract buffs do not stack with each other, so run one at a time. Ten per world quest is small, but it is passive and it runs for a week
- Darkmoon Faire arrives on the first Sunday of each month. The rollercoaster or carousel applies a 10% reputation buff for an hour, and a Darkmoon Top Hat bought with prize tickets lets you apply the same buff without travelling to the Faire
- Human characters carry a permanent 10% reputation increase from Diplomacy, which is worth knowing about if you have an alt sitting on the right race
- Shadowlands Timewalking is the heavy one. While the event is running you gain a 50% bonus to reputation from quests and creature kills, which dwarfs everything else on this list. If you are planning this farm rather than grinding it reactively, bank your side quests and hold your world quest turn-ins for a Timewalking week
Claiming caches

Once you hit Exalted, every subsequent 10,000 reputation makes a Wild Hunt Supplies cache available from Aithlyn in the Heart of the Forest in Ardenweald. The cache does not appear in your bags automatically. Go and collect it, open it, then go back to filling the bar.

- Grinding world quests before finishing the Ardenweald side quests wastes the fastest untimed reputation in the zone
- Skipping the Night Fae assault window loses a flat 1,000 whenever it comes around
- Grinding through a Timewalking week without noticing loses half your potential gain on every quest turned in during it
- Expecting the mount from an early cache leads people to stop after two or three, which is the point where most of the farm still lies ahead
Where this stops being worth your time

The reputation itself is simple. It is repetitive Ardenweald content in an expansion two cycles behind current, and the cache RNG means finishing is not a function of effort. Some accounts finish quickly. Others open a dozen caches and are no closer than they were at the start, with no mechanism anywhere in the system that changes that.
If you want the mount without spending months of dailies in a zone you have already finished, KingBoost’s reputation farming team handles the reputation and the paragon caches for you. For the wider collection, our Shadowlands mount services cover the rest of the paragon mounts on the same principle.
