Aniimo Beginner Guide to Catching, Potential and Prismana Hunting
This Aniimo beginner guide takes you from your first catch to a team of Perfect and Prismana Aniimo without wasting a single Aniipod Ultra along the way. Aniimo is a free to play creature collector from Pawprint Studio, set on the continent of Idyll, and it rewards volume. Unlike classic monster catchers where one copy of a creature is enough, here you catch dozens of the same species, grade them and keep only the best. Once that loop clicks, everything else in the game builds on it
Spending in Aniimo buys speed rather than power. Most of the shop is cosmetics and shortcuts, and it only starts to matter at the very top end, where premium Aniipods raise your odds on the rarest forms
Follow the story and Elite Training first

Your level cap rises with the main quests. The quest giver at the starting camp hands out Elite Training tasks, and clearing them earns promotions that open higher caps, new regions and better rewards. You do not need to grind these on purpose. Most of them complete while you play, so check back at camp after each session and turn in what is done
Grab every green side quest icon you pass, even if you leave it for later. Evolution quests for a species usually sit in the same region where that species spawns, so a full quest log saves you backtracking once you start evolving
Unlock every fast travel point you find. They heal your party, which matters a lot if nobody in your team runs a healer
If the story wall is holding you back from the good part, Aniimo Story Completion clears the main quests and Pathfinder Leveling pushes your level up to meet the new cap
Catching and Aniipods
You catch Aniimo by throwing an Aniipod. Weaken or stagger the target first and your odds climb, and a fully staggered creature is a guaranteed catch. Set your team to defensive mode while you hunt, since aggressive mode keeps attacking and can knock out the Aniimo you are trying to catch
| Aniipod | What it does |
|---|---|
| Aniipod | Standard catch rate, your everyday pod |
| Aniipod Pro | 1.5x catch rate |
| Aniipod Mega | 2x catch rate |
| Aniipod Hyper | 2x catch rate with a faster throw |
| Aniipod Ultra | Guaranteed catch with Elite Potential or better |
| Sparkling Cube | Guaranteed catch that is both Sparkling and Perfect |
Basic pods come from quests, chests, level rewards and the camp merchant, who sells them for gold. Treat the Aniipod Ultra and Sparkling Cube as premium stock. Save Ultras for bosses and rare eggs, and hold every Sparkling Cube for a Prismana or Umbral target
Potential grades and the Research Console
Every Aniimo rolls its Innate Potential the moment you catch it. Take your catches to the Research Console at any camp outpost and upload the report to see the grade
| Grade | What to do with it |
|---|---|
| Common | Release it unless you need the species for a quest |
| Good | Release it once a better copy turns up |
| Elite | Build around it. A sparkle on the Elite tag means one Capability Fruit pushes it to Perfect |
| Perfect | Keep every one |
Perfect lands on roughly 0.8% of wild catches and Elite on about 7%, so volume is the whole game. The report screen has release toggles by grade, and released Aniimo turn into XP items that level up the ones you keep. Research turn ins also pay out a solid stack of gold
Pour Dewdrop Crystals and Resonance upgrades only into Elite and Perfect Aniimo. A low grade copy needs far more materials to reach the same ceiling. Keep one copy of every species anyway, since quests ask for them
Combat, Twine and talents
Combat runs in two modes. In Command Mode you fight as your Pathfinder, firing energy attacks that stagger enemies while your Aniimo fight alongside you. In Twine Mode you become your Aniimo and play it directly, with dodge i frames, a special ability and an ultimate. Most of the roster has its own moveset, so Twine is where you get the most out of a strong creature
Your Pathfinder has a passive and an active talent tree. Actives include a heal for your team, a skateboard, a hammer strike and a gravity pull that solves a lot of overworld puzzles. One passive talent removes the short pause before you Twine, and it is worth rushing because it makes switching in and out feel instant. Respecs are free, so experiment
World bosses show their recommended level and weakness when you approach. The indicator on the right of your screen tells you at a glance whether your active Aniimo hits the weakness, so swap before you commit
Exploration, weather and traversal
Aniimo move through Idyll in three ways, gliding, swimming and climbing, each in tiers up to 3. The exploration tab in the Aniilog lists which of your Aniimo cover each tier. A few species also have a ground sprint or a utility skill like cloaking, which the game does not flag up front
Open the region map to see every species that spawns there. Pick one and select Habitats to highlight its spawn points. Some species only appear in rain or at certain times of day, and you can change the time of day whenever you want, so a missing entry is usually one weather or clock change away
Region progress counts catches made inside that region only. An Emberpup caught in one region does not count toward another, so catch each local species on its home ground. Zoom the map in to see smaller points of interest
Some Aniimo share a species but carry a different element in another region. The fire Emberpup has an earth colored variant elsewhere that follows the same evolution line, so check area variants before assuming you have a species covered
Map Exploration sweeps the regions for you, and Creatures adds the Aniimo still missing from your Aniilog
Rare Aniimo explained

| Type | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Sparkling | A color swap. Cosmetic only, and it survives evolution |
| Umbral | A shadow coat with red eyes and Perfect Potential every time. Around 1 in 3,000 wild encounters. The coat disappears on evolution but the Potential stays |
| Prismana | A rainbow form with its own look and stronger stats, the top prize for most builds |
| Alpha | The boss version you fight in the open world. An Aniipod Ultra guarantees the catch at Elite or better |
These layers stack. A Sparkling Cube on a Prismana gives you a Sparkling Prismana at Perfect, which is the best free roster piece you can build early. Umbral Aniimo are a trophy pick, so leave them unevolved if the coat is what you want. Sparkling Pigment from the merchant recolors a Sparkling Prismana you already own
Nurture Blooms and Prismana Flow
This is the main route to Prismana. Every region has Blooms, plants that stay dormant until you earn the region’s Bronze Badge by catching around 40% of its species. Feed Lumin Amber to the region’s Branch to unlock Nurture
Nurture a Bloom and it pulls in a Wild Surge, a crowd of the species tied to that Bloom. Catch as many as you can before the timer runs out. Each catch fills the region’s Prismatic Energy, and a full gauge guarantees a Prismana spawn. Better pods mean more catches per Surge, so bring Mega or Hyper pods rather than basic ones
Offerings placed on the Bloom steer which species show up. Each Bloom has a set pool, and the region map shows which Prismana forms can appear there, so you can target the exact form you want
The Prismana Crystal skips the gauge entirely. Unlock it with the region’s Silver Badge, feed one crystal to the Branch and a Prismana Flow starts at once, up to 3 per day. Level the Branch with Lumin Amber and it pays out crystals of its own
Nurture runs are capped each day, and a premium membership raises the cap. Spend yours every day, since unused runs do not carry over
The Branch eats Lumin Amber fast, and a Lumin Amber top up gets it to Prismana tier without the pickup hunt. For the rainbow form itself, Aniimo Prismana puts it straight onto your roster
Homeland, eggs and the Hatchinator
The Homeland is your base, and it pays off faster than it looks. Assign Aniimo to farming and production jobs, keep them fed and they work while you are offline, turning crops into food you sell for Homeland currency. Wheat is the easy starter crop. Buy seeds up to the daily limit, let your Aniimo plant them and sell the food
That income levels up your RV, which lets you place more buildings and more Hatchinators. Eggs drop in the open world at night and come from Egg Heist, events and quests, and they hatch on a real time timer. More Hatchinators means more eggs cooking at once
Use your premium pods on eggs too. An Aniipod Ultra locks a Sparkling egg to Elite or better, and a Sparkling Cube on a Perfect or Prismana egg gives you a Sparkling Perfect. Umbral Eggs from Egg Heist always hatch Perfect
Playing with friends
Up to 4 players share a world, with crossplay across platforms. The host’s world and story progress are the ones that count, so guests do not advance their own campaign. Egg Heist runs in teams of 3
Two Aniimo, Fulmintis and Dazmand, can only be caught in another player’s world. Trading goes through the Aniimo Exchange once your friendship reaches Good Friend, with a daily trade limit. Friends can also visit your Homeland and speed up an egg in your Hatchinator
