Diablo 4 Season 14: Everything New in Season of Death Awakening
5 min read
Diablo 4's Season 14, Season of Death Awakening, goes live June 30, 2026, and it's a heavier reset than the last couple. Blizzard confirmed the date on June 23, and this one touches the actual loot chase rather than just bolting on a fresh reward track. New seasonal activity, a new Lair Boss, a full Mythic Unique rework, the long-requested Solo Self-Found mode and an Overwatch crossover. If you're rolling a fresh seasonal character, the first week is where the season is won or lost, so here's what's new and what to farm first.
We push the leaderboard every season ourselves, so this is the order we'd actually tackle it in. And if you'd rather hit the ground at full power, KingBoost runs Season 14 from level one to endgame.
When does Season 14 start

Season 14 launches June 30, 2026, with Patch 3.1.0 available to pre-download from June 25. Season 13 ends the same day and your Season 13 characters roll into the Eternal Realm, so wrap anything you still want before the reset. The season goes live at 10:00 AM PDT. The Overwatch event and Tejal's Shop skins open slightly later the same day, at 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM PT respectively. The season should run the usual length, roughly 90 days, putting the likely end around late September, though Blizzard has not locked an end date.
Pandemonium Ruptures (the new seasonal loop)

The core activity. Ruptures are rifts that tear open across Sanctuary, especially inside Helltides, dragging Pandemonium enemies into the open world
- Find a Rupture and kill the guardians around the Death's Head Idols to open it
- Cast the ritual ring to start the event, then keep it alive by killing monsters and closing Tears
- The longer you hold a Rupture open, the better the rewards scale, so don't rush to close it
- Ruptures drop Glints of Hope and occasionally summon Realmwalkers, which open Deathtoll Chamber dungeons
- Deathtoll Chambers drop the keys you need for the new Lair Boss, so the whole loop feeds itself
The new monster family, the Risen, shows up here too. Gravehounds drop orbs that empower a special Risen called the Exarch, so clear the hounds before the Exarch soaks too many orbs.
The Corrupted Reaper (new Lair Boss)

The season's farm target, and a face Diablo 3 veterans will recognize
- The Reaper's lair, the Pandemonium Threshold, sits in Zarbinzet
- Opening the reward cache needs Superior Lair Keys, which come from the Rupture and Deathtoll Chamber loop above
- This is your Mythic Unique farm, so once your build is online, the Reaper rotation is where the chase lives

Mythic Uniques 3.0 (the big itemization change)

This is the rework that actually changes how builds get finished, so read this part carefully
- Mythic is no longer a separate item tier. It's now a quality that any Unique can have
- The old Mythics (The Grandfather, Ahavarion, Tyrael's Might and the rest) sit on the standard Unique loot table now
- A Mythic Unique is Ancestral, has a stronger Unique Power and rolls its other affixes at maximum values
- Any Unique can drop as a Mythic or be crafted into one, which means build-defining chase items are no longer locked to a tiny separate pool
Don't burn your rare crafting materials in the first few days. PTR feedback already reshaped several of these systems, and the strongest day-one build opinion usually doesn't survive the first week of live testing. Level up, unlock the seasonal systems, hoard your good 850+ Uniques and your Mythic mats, and wait for the build makers to settle on what's actually meta before you commit materials. People who craft on day one almost always regret it by day five.
Solo Self-Found mode

The long-requested solo mode finally ships, and it’s a great way to enjoy the game if you prefer to avoid the crowds.
- SSF disables trading and grouping, so every drop is earned solo
- The Dark Citadel, the Warlock free trial, and couch co-op are all turned off in SSF
- It has its own Tower leaderboards, with filters to separate SSF runs from standard play
- There's no drop-rate bonus for playing SSF, which is a deliberate design choice, so this is about the challenge, not faster loot
SSF exposes class balance way more brutally than normal seasonal play, because you can't trade your way out of a weak class. If you're going SSF, the early consensus is that Paladin, Druid, Rogue and Necromancer are the comfortable picks. Going in on a shaky class solo is a great way to hardwall yourself with no way out.
Warlock free trial and the Overwatch crossover

Two extras worth knowing about.
- Non-expansion owners can try the Warlock class free from June 30 to July 7, leveling to 25. Buy Lord of Hatred later and your progress carries forward on the same character.
- Season 14 launches with a Diablo 4 x Overwatch event. Kill Elite and Champion monsters to earn Eye of the Overwatch currency, spent in a free Reliquary for cosmetics including a mount trophy, weapon skins, a dye and Kiriko's Fox Spirit pet. Paid Overwatch skins also hit Tejal's Shop.

What to farm first

If you want the efficient week-one path: roll your seasonal character, start the seasonal quest in Kyovashad, unlock the Rupture loop, and push to level 70 and Torment difficulty before you start seriously chasing Mythic crafting. Keep good Uniques, bank your materials, and don't commit to a final build until the live meta settles.
Skip the grind

A new season means starting from zero and the climb from a fresh level 1 to a Reaper-farming, Mythic-chasing endgame character is the same grind every season, just with new names on it. If you'd rather start at the top, Kingboost’s team handles Season 14 leveling, the Pandemonium Rupture and Deathtoll loop, Corrupted Reaper farms and Mythic Unique hunting, so you log in to a character that's already ready to push.

FAQ
WHEN DOES DIABLO 4 SEASON 14 START?
June 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM PDT, confirmed by Blizzard. Patch 3.1.0 is pre-downloadable from June 25 at 10:00 AM PDT.
DO I NEED THE EXPANSION TO PLAY SEASON 14?
No. The core seasonal content (Pandemonium Ruptures, Mythic Uniques 3.0, Solo Self-Found, the Corrupted Reaper) is available to everyone with the base game. The Warlock and Paladin classes need the Lord of Hatred expansion, though Warlock is free to try from June 30 to July 7, and about 15 percent of seasonal objectives require the expansion.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHANGE IN SEASON 14?
Mythic Uniques 3.0. Mythic is now a quality any Unique can roll rather than a separate tier, so build-defining items dropped from a tiny pool now sit on the standard Unique table and can be crafted onto any Unique.
IS SOLO SELF-FOUND WORTH PLAYING?
It depends what you want. SSF has no drop-rate bonus, so it's a challenge mode rather than a faster path. It also punishes weak class picks hard, since you can't trade, so pick a strong solo class if you go that route.
WHAT SHOULD I DO FIRST IN SEASON 14?
Make a seasonal character, start the quest in Kyovashad, unlock the Rupture loop, and level to 70 and Torment before chasing Mythic crafting. Hold your crafting materials until the live build meta settles, since day-one opinions rarely survive the first week.
